STELE

Stele

I worked with Imogen Stuart and her daughter Aisling to make this three meter tall public sculpture for Sandycove in Co. Dublin. We worked over two years, from 2020 to 2022. The piece was unveiled by President Michael D. Higgins on the 6th May 2022. I feel very privileged to have been involved in bringing Imogen’s vision to life in such a beautiful and generous piece of work.

Stele is carved from a block of Wicklow Granite, quarried by Ryanstone of Blessington: https://ryanstone.com. The concept and design for the piece were gifted to Sandycove by Imogen, and the costs of manufacture were met through the energetic fundraising of the local residents, and the generosity of many artists and donors. http://www.imogenstuart.com
